Trivia Tuesday’s Bean Queen Answers & WINNER MELISSA FRANK !!!

Congratulations to Bean Queen Melissa McGivney who came in first place by answering the most questions correctly on last week’s Trivia Tuesday. Melissa is the perfect person to win this Bean Queen crown because she has done an amazing job drastically reducing fat in her diet to heal herself from a major illness. If there is one person who is NOT indulging in Fat Tuesday, it is Melissa! (Answers at bottom of page below.) Today’s recipe for My Little Chickapee Lunch is just for you.

Melissa isn’t my only friend who is not indulging in fat filled donuts today. On our weekly walk today, my friend Gayle said, “I’m already fat, I don’t need a holiday to celebrate it.” Amen to that! I can totally relate.

I do feel I am in good company with my friends and family who all seem to be shifting toward a lighter load filled with more plants than animal fat, whether it’s to aid their good health, the environment, or to fit into their skinny jeans.

I am comforted to know that beans are always low in fat, and so are most vegetables and fruits! Yes, I stare into the bakery window and long for cream filled paczki. Maybe I will surrender this evening before Ash Wednesday tomorrow. I know Jesus loves me through it all.

    FYI Just thought I’d mention that at some point last year I decided to give up only 2 things from my diet. It’s soda pop and fried foods. No dieting, just stay away from those two items and continue to eat whatever else you want. And the pounds are rolling off. And they keep on rolling off. You can still eat chip’s, just the baked ones. You can still have coffee with cream and sugar if you like, just no soda.
    And the pounds still come off, even tho I cheated heavily for Christmas holidays, one third bag of Lays potato chips and lotsa cookies, etc. Just went right back to no fried foods and no sodas and I’m back to dropping pounds. Have had to shorten all my pants already. Big smiles all around. 😃😊

      Hi Mom! Yes, that is the chick pea salad I made. The recipe is in the link you can click on if you go back to the title just after the words “Recipe:”. If you try it, please let me know what you think! I bought fresh chick peas in the pod for the first time yesterday and apparently they only take about five minutes to simmer! Will write about it and post pics when I am done. Have you ever made chick peas from the pod?
