to work for thinner thighs in global heat!

The city of Chicago and I had a deal.

Every November I get to eat whatever I want and get fat until April, when it’s so cold nobody will see my thighs under seventeen layers of clothing. Then when we get the first hint of warm air, I start to swap out chocolate for berries, and beef stews for veggies, and by the time summer rolls around, nobody notices a thing. 

Global warming came and messed it all up!

Until the kids we brainwashed to become engineers come and fix it, or end of days beats us to the punch, I am going to have to face facts that we no longer hibernate all winter in Chicago.  No wonder California is so much more aggressive with their environmental responsibility. They see the naked truth sooner than we do! You can’t fix what you don’t see.

My part in the global warming initiative is crucial!

I plan to blog my heart out about how to eat smarter snacks and foods that won’t break the bank, and won’t make your thighs jiggle so much that you can’t get out of bed in the morning, go to work, and make the money to send the children to college to fix all our over-polluted, over-consuming ways.

Get those berries out of the freezer and put them on everything:

  • Half cup topped on frozen whole grain waffle (so a drizzle of syrup goes a long way!)

  • Frozen blueberries straight from the bowl in front of the tv instead of chips

  • Swap out half your cereal for berries and watch your cheeks get pink

  • Pack a cup of cucumbers, carrots and berries and swap out that latte in the car for immune blast

  • Enjoy 60 calorie treat all day long as you grab a hand full of snacks from your box you brought to work

  • Invert the yogurt/berry parfait so your main ingredient is BERRY with a tsp of YOGURT on top

Once your gut gets all that water, fiber, flavor, it will hardly notice you haven’t fed it butter, cream, and other dense, winter foods that send you hibernating under the covers.

If you are stuck in your hibernation hole and wanna get out, it won’t take long, but it will take action.

Time to BERRY ourselves out!
