Baba is the nickname we gave my dad, Enzo Tribo. My dad was born in northern Italy in 1932 in a town called Fiume, which today is part of Croatia. Dad's parents died when he was quite young, and at age 23 he decided to move to Chicago Heights where his cousins gave him a place to stay. Once there, he decided to go to the shops to see what the girls in America looked like. Inside Barwig Drug Store he met the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life. He asked her for help finding "Luke water" for his sweater, and showed her the directions on his bottle of Woolite. "See? Luke water!" She explained to him that he needed 'luke warm water', and then proceeded to marry him, have four kids, and help him build his own restaurant "Enzo's Restaurant" in Chicago Heights, along with The Carmelcorn Shop right next door. The couple spent the next 50 years cooking together and feeding everyone in the tri-state area. Now that they are both retired, Enzo is hoping he can finally get started on his hobbies and can often be heard saying "I gotta learn how to play the guitar!" or "I gotta start running!" He is 82.
